1. Install
Sahkarmi runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). macOS and Linux builds come later.
- Download the newest
Sahkarmi-<version>-x64.exefrom the download section or GitHub Releases. - Open it. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen warns. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- It installs for your user only, without administrator rights, and opens Sahkarmi when done.
The install guide has the full steps, how to check the download's checksum, troubleshooting and uninstall.
2. First launch
- Choose your provider. On a new PC, OpenCode (free, built in) is ready to use. It needs no account. Click Continue with OpenCode (free).
- A short What's New note explains the release. Click Got it.
- You start with nine coworkers: Mitra (orchestrator), Asha (accounts), Vikram (sales), Meera (support), Arjun (research), Kavya (content), Dev (code), Tara (ops) and Kabir (security). You can rename, edit or delete any of them.
3. Connect an AI provider (optional)
Open Settings, then AI and models. Each provider has a Connect button. Your password is only typed on the provider's own page. Sahkarmi reuses that sign-in and never copies tokens.
- Claude: uses Claude Code and your Claude plan.
- ChatGPT (Codex): uses the Codex CLI and your ChatGPT plan.
- Google Antigravity: Sahkarmi downloads Google's agent after you accept Google's terms, then opens Log in with Google. A Google AI Studio API key also works.
- More agents: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Kimi Code, Cline, Qwen Code and others. Connect installs the tool when needed and starts its sign-in.
Each coworker can use a different provider and model. Pick them from the model name in the chat header. If a paid provider stops answering or hits its limit, the backup model hands the message to the free model with a note in the chat.
4. Create a coworker
- Press Ctrl+N to make a new coworker. Give it a name, a role and instructions.
- Or open Marketplace in the sidebar and click Add on a ready-made coworker. It arrives with its job already set.
- Press Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 to open a coworker, and Ctrl+K to search across coworkers and messages.
A deleted coworker can be brought back with Undo for 8 seconds.
5. Give it work
- Open a coworker and type what you want done, in English, Hindi or Bengali. You can also send a voice note.
- The coworker shows a plan above the message box and ticks off steps as it works.
- You can send more messages while it works; they go into its queue. Press Esc in the message box to stop it.
- Use the Tasks page to send a task to any coworker and see the status of recent tasks for the whole team.
- For repeat work, set a schedule (once, hourly, daily, weekdays or weekly) or a routine.
Coworkers keep their files in their own folder and can share files with the team in the Shared folder.
6. The built-in browser and approvals
Each coworker can open web pages in the built-in browser beside the chat. You can watch every open page as a small live picture.
- Take over: for logins, OTPs, CAPTCHAs and payment pages, press Take over and type yourself. The coworker's browser tools pause while you are in control.
- Password and OTP card: when a site asks for a password, OTP or PIN, the coworker asks for it in a secure card in the chat. What you type goes straight into the page and is never shown to the coworker.
- Approvals: coworkers stop and ask before payments, messages to customers, publishing and form submissions. The approval card appears in the chat (Enter approves, Esc rejects) and in the Approvals inbox.
- Permissions: Settings, Permissions sets how much coworkers may do on their own.
7. Chat from Telegram
You can talk to your coworkers from Telegram on your phone. Sahkarmi must be open on the computer.
- Open Settings, then Telegram.
- Click the button to open @BotFather in Telegram and make a new bot. BotFather gives you a bot token.
- Paste the token in Sahkarmi and click Connect.
- Click Pair in Telegram and press Start in the bot chat. Only that one chat is answered.
Your message goes into the coworker's normal queue and the reply comes back to Telegram. Use /coworkers to list coworkers and /use to switch. New approvals are announced in Telegram, but you allow or deny them in the app. The Show me how guide in Settings walks through every step with pictures.
8. Updates
Sahkarmi updates itself. It checks GitHub Releases for a new version after launch and then from time to time. In Settings, Updates, choose whether updates download by themselves or ask first, or check now. A downloaded update installs when you quit or restart Sahkarmi. Your coworkers, chats and settings are kept. The changelog lists what changed in each version.
9. Where your data lives
Everything stays on your computer. App data is in %APPDATA%\Sahkarmi. Coworker folders, Shared files and Downloads are in %USERPROFILE%\Sahkarmi. There is no Sahkarmi account or cloud. The text a coworker works on goes to the AI provider you chose. The privacy policy explains what is stored, what is sent and how to delete it.
